Thailand continues to promote tourism initiatives targeting Indian travelers at SATTE 2025, a leading travel and tourism event in India. Specifically, the country pushes its various offerings to reach its goal of attracting 40 million international visitors in 2025. Through tailored products, services, and strategic collaborations, Thailand further positions itself as a preferred destination for Indian travelers.
Strategic Presence at SATTE 2025
Held from February 19 to 21 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, SATTE 2025 serves as a key platform for global tourism networking. In particular, Thailand’s participation this year marks its 16th appearance, illustrating its dedication to the Indian market. Notably, the country’s 300-square-meter pavilion is one of the biggest at the event, featuring cultural exhibits, business networking spaces, and travel advice.
Thailand has launched two major campaigns targeting different traveler segments. The first, “Living it Up in Thailand,” focuses on young Indian millennials. Specifically, It highlights cultural experiences, adventure activities, and Thailand’s renowned nightlife. Correspondingly, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has partnered with travel websites Clear Trip and Akbar Holidays to reach a bigger market.
Next, the second, “Celebrations with Care and Inner Shine,” aims to attract Indian wedding and anniversary travelers. In particular, this campaign promotes Thailand as a premier destination for luxurious celebrations such as weddings. These are the primary offerings of Thailand at SATTE 2025.
Growth in Indian Arrivals
Thailand has seen a surge in Indian visitors, thanks to strategic initiatives like visa exemptions and better air connectivity. In 2024, over 2.1 million Indians traveled to Thailand, marking a 30.74 percent increase in 2023. Moreover, this growth highlights Thailand’s popularity among Indian tourists.
Looking ahead, the Tourism Authority of Thailand has set an ambitious target of 2.3 million Indian arrivals in 2025. To achieve this, the country is focusing on families, luxury travelers, golfers, and wellness tourists. With such ongoing marketing campaigns, Thailand expects to maintain its appeal among Indian travelers. The participation at SATTE 2025 is one way it will make its goal a reality.
Impact of SATTE 2025 Collaboration
Thailand can attribute its success at SATTE 2025 to not just promotions but strong partnerships, as well. The event facilitates B2B collaborations between Thai and Indian tourism businesses. Furthermore, these partnerships are expected to drive long-term growth in Indian travel to Thailand.
A key highlight is the “Atithi” initiative, a specialized buyer-seller meet organized with the Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC). This event brings together over 250 international buyers, including Indian travel operators, to explore business opportunities in Thailand. Such initiatives play a crucial role in expanding Thailand’s reach in the Indian market.
ASEAN-India Tourism Growth
Thailand’s efforts such as SATTE 2025 participation to attract Indian tourists align with broader ASEAN-India tourism cooperation. Recently, the country participated in the ASEAN-India Tourism Ministers Meeting, proposing initiatives like the “ASEAN-India Forum 2025”. These efforts aim to boost two-way tourism between India and Southeast Asia.
India’s outbound tourism market is growing rapidly. In particular, projections have placed it among the top five globally by 2027. Furthermore, Thailand continues to position itself as a preferred destination for Indian travelers with tailored experiences and seamless travel options.
