EVA Air and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) have renewed their partnership to elevate Thailand’s top destination status. The partnership, marked by a four-year Letter of Intent (LOI), was signed on November 19, 2024, in Bangkok.
TAT and EVA Air’s partnership
TAT Governor Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, EVA Air Executive Vice President Mr. Albert Liao, and senior representatives attended the event. Deputy Governor Ms. Pattaraanong Na Chiangmai and EVA Air Vice President Mr. Tang Tseng executed the letter of intent.
With both parties committed to driving international tourism, the collaboration aims to attract more travelers from key global markets. Together, they outlined a shared vision to promote Thailand’s diverse attractions.
This renewed partnership focuses on joint marketing campaigns, familiarization trips for media and travel agents, and enhanced travel packages. Additionally, EVA Air and TAT will participate in tradeshows and roadshows to increase visibility in target markets.
This collaboration builds on a series of successful initiatives between the two organizations. For example, in 2023, a tram campaign in Amsterdam promoted Thailand alongside EVA Air’s Bangkok-Amsterdam flights. Impressively, the campaign garnered over 21 million impressions.
Similarly, TAT and EVA Air highlighted Thai tourism at the 2024 BOOKIZCON event in South Korea, generating significant interest. A networking event in Sendai, Japan, brought together 11 tourism partners, further cementing Thailand’s appeal in the region.
Thailand as a premier destination
“Our collaboration with EVA Air has delivered exceptional results, showcasing Thailand’s unique culture and warm hospitality,” said Kiatphaibool. “This renewed alliance will inspire more travelers and reinforce Thailand’s position as a must-visit destination.”
According to Liao, EVA Air EVP, Thailand is a popular attraction among Taiwanese travelers, which justifies their partnership with TAT. Moreover, their collaboration will further promote Thailand’s allure as a preferred destination.
Liao shared, “We focus on popular global destinations to maximize passenger numbers per trip and balance operational costs. Thailand continues to be a key market, attracting travelers across generations with its diverse offerings, including food, shopping, natural attractions, and eco-tourism, which are especially appealing to Taiwanese travelers.”
“Our partnership with TAT strengthens Thailand’s appeal as a premier destination,” he continued. “Through joint marketing and tailored packages, we aim to introduce Thailand’s attractions to more travelers across our network.”
“The lifestyles of Taiwanese and Thai people share similarities, and Thailand’s digital transformation has opened new chapters for food lovers and shoppers to explore unique flavors and cultures,” he added. The rising influencer culture has also contributed to Thailand’s global appeal, with increased passive income from international digital nomads.”
