A Vision for Year-Round Tourism
Tourism plays a crucial role in Thailand’s economy, contributing over 14 percent to the country’s GDP. Earlier, Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra emphasized that this festival aligns with the nation’s goal of reaching 3.5 trillion Baht in tourism revenue. Additionally, it also supports the country’s aim to achieve attracting 40 million visitors in 2025. Moreover, the government aims to reduce the low-season tourism dip by offering immersive experiences throughout the year.
To achieve this, authorities have carefully curated events that highlight Thailand’s heritage, traditions, and modern creativity. As a result, both local and international tourists can enjoy a variety of summer festivals, ensuring a vibrant travel experience.
Summer Festivals Lineup
Under the theme of “7 Months, 7 Wonders”, each month will feature unique celebrations, blending culture, sports, music, and food. Notably, these events will take place in different regions, allowing visitors to explore Thailand beyond its popular tourist attractions.
March: The Grand Kickoff
The summer festivals season begins with thrilling sports and cultural events. Initially, fans can witness the MotoGP – PT Grand Prix of Thailand 2025 in Buri Ram, attracting motorsport enthusiasts worldwide.
Simultaneously, the World Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony pays tribute to Thailand’s national martial art. In addition, music lovers can also enjoy the Pattaya Music Festival and the PELUPU International Music Festival 2025 in Chon Buri.
April: Spotlight on Songkran
April brings the Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2025, held at Sanam Luang in Bangkok. Recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage, Songkran is Thailand’s most famous festival.
